People, in growing numbers, trapped in low-waged, low benefit jobs need a government that will stand up for them: for their right to form a union, to legislate and enforce a living wage, and to protect their rights on the job.

Dalton McGuinty has watched as good union jobs have vanished and wages have stagnated. He said Ontario’s economy was booming and that problems could be ignored. He even gave himself a $40,000 raise while Ontarians struggle below the poverty line.

Students and their families are left struggling. Long-waiting lists for special education, lack of ESL teachers and some of the highest tuition fees in the country make learning difficult and sometimes impossible.

Health Care

Andrea's stance on health care
Privatizating and de-listing health services costs more in the long-run and leaves working people struggling to pay. OHIP should cover all services that keep Ontarians healthy – from dental care to eye exams to physiotherapy services. Andrea will fight for home care and long-term care can relieve pressure on our overcrowded hospitals but not when private business is skimming big profits off limited funds.

On Dalton McGuinty’s watch over 30 private, for-profit P3 hospitals haven been built, necessary medical services de-listed from OHIP and private health firms are making big bucks on the backs of Ontarians – and John Tory’s backed him every step of the way.
